For more than 30 years, Vaughandale has been nurturing young talent, offering mentorship, hands-on learning, and tailored career paths that create skilled professionals.

During National Apprenticeship Week (10th-16th February 2025), Vaughandale is proud to reflect on the contributions of its apprentices and celebrate the role they play in the company’s ongoing success.

As part of this celebration, our team will be attending the Apprenticeship Event at Vision West Nottinghamshire College on 12th February 2025, to continue promoting these opportunities.

The company offers apprenticeships in key areas like joinery, bricklaying, quantity surveying, and construction management, with programs designed to support career development at every stage.

From working on large-scale restorations to new builds, apprentices are exposed to a variety of tasks and responsibilities that help them grow professionally.

Meet Our Apprentices: Success Stories in the Making

Many of Vaughandale’s apprentices progress through multiple levels of training, developing into skilled and knowledgeable professionals.

  • Eddie – Completed Level 2 Carpentry and Joinery in August 2024, Started Level 3 Carpentry and Joinery in September 2024.
  • James – Level 2 Bricklaying – currently at end point assessment stage.
  • George and Joe – Both studying Level 6 Quantity Surveying and Construction Management, are gaining practical experience while working alongside Vaughandale’s experienced surveyors.
  • Owen – Recently completed Level 2 Joinery and Carpentry. Looking at starting Level 3 in Sept 2025.
  • Kieran – Started Level 2 Joinery and Carpentry in September 2024.

A Structured, Fair, and Supportive Recruitment Process

Vaughandale’s apprenticeship recruitment process ensures fair and inclusive opportunities for all. The process includes:

  • Step One: Advertisement of vacancies through schools, colleges, and local networks
  • Step Two: Semi-formal interviews to discuss expectations and goals
  • Step Three: A two-month settling-in period, where apprentices gain practical on-site experience before starting their college programs

This approach ensures that apprentices are well-prepared and supported from day one.

Sustainability, Community, and Career Growth

Vaughandale’s focus on apprenticeships is also part of its wider commitment to local employment, sustainability, and community growth.
