Vaughandale Delight at New Contracts Award

20 Aug, 2025
We are excited to announce that we have been appointed to deliver two new prestigious contracts with West Nottinghamshire College in the Mansfield and Ashfield area.

Starting this month, we will be on-site re-roofing the sixth-form centre at the college’s Chesterfield Road campus in Mansfield and also converting the former Wilko store in Sutton-in-Ashfield into a new construction training centre, which will become the Portland Square campus.

Andrew Cropley, Principal and Chief Executive at West Nottinghamshire College, commented:

“I’m delighted we have awarded both of these important contracts to a quality local business. The conversion of the former Wilko store will create a dedicated centre for training in plumbing and electrical installation, with a clear eye to how these professions are developing rapidly in the face of climate change.

The improvements to our sixth-form college will improve the carbon footprint of this beautiful building and create an even better environment for our A Level students.

We have taken concerted steps recently to use local businesses for our development activities and, as chair of the Mansfield Place Board, I’m determined that we do all we can to ensure that our local firms and communities benefit as much as possible from investments like these. I look forward to seeing both projects progress to completion.”

Darren Atkins, Contracts Director at Vaughandale Construction Ltd, responded:

“As one of the leading construction companies in the East Midlands, we are delighted to have been awarded two new contracts with West Nottinghamshire College for the delivery of two prestigious projects.

We are particularly pleased to be involved in the development of the new training centre as part of the Portland Square project.

To be working on projects that will enhance and be of benefit to our local community closely aligns with our company values and ethos.”
